Basic instruction for calling internationally

If you are going to make a call from the USA or Canada to the most countries:

  • Dial 011+ country code + phone number.

Where 011 is the USA exit code. You should dial it first! Only then dial the code of the country you want to make a call to. For example, you want to call to France. Its country code is 33. So, you should dial the following phone number combination: 011 + 33 + phone number of the recipient.

  • Making calls to countries within the North American Numbering Plan, you should dial: 1 + area code + 7 digit local number. It is the same as dialing a US state to state call. Please, note that in this case you will incur international charges!

If you are going to make an international call from any other country:

  • Dial your country's exit code + destination country code + phone number.

For example, you need to make a call from France to UK. So, dial France exit code, then UK the country code and finally local phone number of the recipient. In this case, we have the following phone number combination: 00 (France exit code) + 44 (UK country code) + local phone number.

Country exit codes could be different for each country or the same for a few ones. As for "00" country code, it’s used in most European countries, and even in a few other countries.

Another example, if you want to call the USA (Alaska, for example) from Spain: firstly, dial 00 (exit country code for making an international call from Spain), then you must be dialed the USA country code -1 (it is also applies to countries in the North American Numbering Plan), after it dial 907 - the area code for Alaska, and finally dial the remaining 7 digits. In the USA telephone numbers consists of 10 digits, 3 first digits are area code, the last 7 digits – numbers of your recipient. So, we have the following combination: 00+1+907+ local phone number of the recipient.

Whenever you call, check world time! It helps you be ensured that whoever you are calling abroad will available to take your call!

Select the country from the alphabet list above and make your international calls!
